It has the ruination numbers right on the board below the regions, so you don't have to ever look at the cards or pass them around the old world cards are in the middle, so easier for all players to see or grab there is more room for figures and tokens I tried to make the region borders very noticeable even for new players, the Populous regions are the ones with cities depicted, instead of saying "populous" really small the forests take the place of the arrows on the original board that mark region order etc. I know most folks love the original map - I think it's a beautiful, clever work of art, but a bit busy and cramped to play on.
